Frequently Asked Questions

If you do not find the answer to your question, please contact us: vulcanotrekking@gmail.com

What level are the hiking routes?

Each route has its own difficulty level, which is determined by the following factors:

  • Distance covered in kilometres
  • Elevation gain and loss (metres climbed and descended)
  • Approximate duration in hours

We therefore recommend that you always check the difficulty level and details of each route before booking the excursion. In addition, we recommend:

  • Being in good health, with no medical conditions or illnesses that would prevent you from hiking in the countryside.
  • Being accustomed to outdoor sports.

PLEASE NOTE: participants under the age of 9 or over the age of 69 are not permitted, as the insurance does not cover any injuries you may sustain.

Is transport included?

Of course! We have a premium, air-conditioned van that can accommodate up to 8 passengers.

Furthermore, as some routes and itineraries are circular (designed to start and end at the same meeting point), you can also choose to make your own way there in a rent car, by bus or by taxi.

PLEASE NOTE: check the pick-up points for each experience or tour.

What is included in the price?

Our services always include:

  • Full insurance: third-party liability, accidents, emergencies and rescue.
  • Professional mountain guide and official Canary Islands tourist guide.
  • Transport included from your accommodation.
  • Bottle of water and snack.
  • Trekking poles.

PLEASE NOTE: check the pick-up points for each experience or tour.

What kind of hiking trails are there in Fuerteventura?

  1. Local trails (SL) are the shortest, with distances of less than 10 kilometres and are marked with white and green signs.
  2. Short trails (PR) are between 10 and 50 kilometres long and can be completed in one or two days. They are marked with white and yellow signs.
  3. Long trails (GR) are longer than 50 kilometres and therefore require several days to complete. They are marked with white and red signs.

PLEASE NOTE: Our hiking routes are carried out in accordance with safety and environmental regulations, usually via the network of trails approved by the Canary Islands Mountaineering Federation (FECAMON). However, there are cases (such as paths, right-of-way passages or natural tracks) which, although visible, are not signposted by FECAMON.
